Announcement about FOSS4G-2018 in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania

The OSGeo Foundation is pleased to announce the hosting of [http://www.foss4g.org/ FOSS4G] (Free and Open Source Software for Geospatial) 2018 event in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania. The FOSS4G-2018 event will be held at the Julius Nyerere International Conference Centre, Dar-es-Salaam and run from Monday 27th August through to Sunday 2nd September, 2018.

The Dar-es-Salaam Local Organizing Committee (“DarLOC”), led by the co- chair [https://www.linkedin.com/in/iliffemark Mark Iliffe] and [https://www.linkedin.com/in/msilikale-msilanga-a0760616 Msilikale Msilanga], brings solid experience in organizing events including the previous FOSS4G-2013 in Nottingham as well as regional and national FOSS4G events.

The Dar-es-Salaam FOSS4G-2018 event has already received strong support form inter-governmental agencies, local/regional/global institutions as well as the Open Data related communities.
