GEOlab – Geomatics and Earth Observation lab

GEOlab is an interdepartmental, multidisciplinary research laboratory at Politecnico di Milano (Italy) whose focus is on the collection, modeling, analysis and representation of Earth observations. The lab has an outstanding experience in the use and development of open source geospatial software for a variety of research applications.

GEOlab team applies the use and development of open source geospatial software in the research domains of Web Mapping, VGI and Citizen Science, Spatial Statistics, Indoor Mapping, Big GeoData and Land Coverage. Many of its members are currently Charter Members of OSGeo. In addition, they are currently affiliated to other institutional or research associations such as UN-GGIM, UN OpenGIS, ISPRS and HOT. In addition to Geo for All, GEOlab belongs to a number of research networks including the European Citizen Science Association (ECSA) and the Association of Geographic Laboratories in Europe (AGILE).
