Howard is a long time geospatial open source contributor who operates Hobu, Inc., in Iowa City, Iowa, which develops software for processing and managing lidar point clouds. It is the creator and primary contributor to PDAL – Point Data Abstraction Library, which is used for processing, extracting, translating lidar point clouds.
